Let's start off today with an explosion of orange - in a good way! This traditional yet cheery bedroom sticks with a monochromatic palette of orange and bright white that is anything but dull. Because this wall paper has so much movement, it was a smart choice to stick with solid blocks of orange on the upholstery and simple linear accents on the bedding and drapery.

Here we have the corner of a bedroom where another lively wallpaper, though not monochromatic, features orange as the leading color. The orange is repeated more subtly here in the accents such as the desk lamps and chair cushion.

A more toned down take on orange and white is this guest bedroom. Here the key player, the geometric rug, is featured on the floor and balance by crisp white walls. The reverse of the first two bedrooms, it maintains a youthful feel.

A more sophisticated take on the orange bedroom, this room features a deeper, more subdued hue. The concept of balancing the orange with crisp white bed linens remain, but the choice to go with a more decorative embroidery is much better suited.

Another beautiful space by the ever so talented Tobi Fairley proves a gray and orange color palette is not limited to a modern design aesthetic. Here she layers this fresh orange and gray toile atop a printed geometric grasscloth wall covering and repeats the fabric throughout the space. The orange dresser is so chic, and on a side note, how incredible is the faux bois (false wood) upholstered bench at the foot of the bed? The combination of patterns is on point.

Now we move on to orange and black and white (oh my!), and not one bit of Halloween. By now you can see I have a bias for this type pf wall covering, but it is truly artistry at its finest. The high gloss black finishes add a fashion forward attitude to the space, and I love the black coverlet on the bed just peeking out. And do I spy yet another Hermès throw (see Hot for Hue: Orange Decor in the Living Room)? Um, yes, and it is fabulous!

Another interpretation of orange and black and white, and no less dramatic. The orange here is focused around the bed with choice of orange patterned duvet, and and orange upholstered settee in front of it.

This much more restrained use of orange yet still such a strong statement. This space happens to be my favorite of the bedrooms with its mixture of black and brass finishes, and those chic fur pillows on the bed. So edgy and cool! And wouldn't you know, a third Hermès throw!
